Basics of deconvolution microscopy

Target audience: PhD students, postdocs, and everyone who aims at improving their microscopy image data and subsequent analysis. Participants of Cutting Edge Microscopy program are particularly invited.
Reward: Certificate of attendance. PhD students can gain 0.5 ECTS from this course by giving a presentation on application of course learning outcome. The date of presentation will be agreed on mutually.
Content: Basics of image formation and deconvolution microscopy. Addressing image acquisition pitfalls. Optimising image deconvolution and restoration to obtain more reliable data and to improve the visualization and quantification of 3D-5D microscopy images. Hands-on with the Huygens software. Includes deconvolution, restoration, and analysis of own data sets.
Learning outcome: Participants will learn how to improve the quality of microscopy images by quantitative deconvolution methods.
