Device Request
Before usage of an instrument owned by another research group, please download and fill in the Device Request Form. This form must be signed by the user and his/her supervisor and be handed over to the administrator of the instrument.
Booking
All MIC instruments are listed in Open Iris. For specific microscope types please go to the respective pages Light Microscopy, Electron Microscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy and Other Systems For access to booking in Open Iris, please request access to the instrument via mail to the instrument administrator indicated in Open Iris. If you need advice on the instrument most suitable for your research, please contact the MIC coordinator, Ruth Lyck, the MIC light microscopy manager, Yury Belyaev, or the MIC electron microscopy specialists, Benoît Zuber and Sabine Kässmeyer.
Rates
MIC instruments and services are accessible for researchers of the University of Bern. For microscope usage fee please see our price list, which identifies the SNF eligible costs. Instrument introductions are offered by the instrument administrator. For most light microscopes, introduction is also offered by the MIC light microscopy manager Dr. Yury Belyaev. The introduction will be invoiced as a service at the official hourly rate of the University of Bern by the renderer of service. Following an introduction into the operation of the equipment, it is possible to work independently for most instruments. External researchers are invited to ask for services offered by the MIC. Please be informed that our price list accounts for UniBE staff only. Prices for external users will be offered on request.
